Click on Start
Go to Connect To
Go to Citynet Connection
Right Mouse Click on the Citynet connection one time
Then left click one time on Properties
General Tab
- Verify the proper modem is selected
- Verify the correct dial-up access phone number is entered
- There is NO check in "Use dialing rules"
- Click on the "Options" tab
Options Tab
- Dialing Options
- Check "Display progress while connecting"
- Check "Prompt for name and password, certificates, etc."
- NO check in "Include Windows logon domain"
- Check "Prompt for phone number"
- Redialing Options
- These settings are at the users discretion
- Click on the Security Tab
Security Tab
- Dot beside "Typical (recommended settings)"
- Validate my identity as follows: "Allow unsecured password"
- All other selections should be blank
- Click on Networking Tab
Networking Tab
- This connection uses the following items:
- Check in "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)"
- Check in "Client for Microsoft Networks"
- Highlight "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)"
- Click Properties
TCP/IP Properties - General Tab
- Dot beside "Obtain an IP address automatically"
- Dot beside "Obtain DNS server address automatically"
- Click on the Advanced Button
TCP/IP Settings - General Tab
- Check in "Use default gateway on remote network"
- Check in "Use IP header compression"
- Click on the DNS Tab
TCP/IP Settings - DNS Tab
- Dot beside "Append primary and connection specific DNS suffixes"
- Remove any other marks on this screen
- Click on the WINS Tab
TCP/IP Settings - WINS Tab
- Dot beside "Disable NetBIOS over TCP/IP"
- Remove any other marks on this screen
- Click OK twice to return to Citynet Properties
Advanced Tab
- Internet Connection Firewall
- NO Check in "Protect my computer and network"
- NO Check in "Allow other network users to connect through this computer's Internet connection"
- Click OK and this will put you back to the desk top
