Deleting A Dial-Up Network Connection
So you think that your DUC (Dial-Up Connection) has gone haywire or has managed to get corrupted? What do you do in these situations and what are the symptoms? Below are the symptoms that will let you know if your DUC is bad, and you will also learn how to remove it.

Symptoms of a bad DUC:
  • You are getting an error message that says:
"Unable to establish a network connection"

  • You are getting an error message that says:
"No response from the Remote Computer"

  • You continually get an error message that says:
    "Invalid Username/Password"
How to correct the Corrupt DUC:
  • Double Click on My Computer
  • Double Click on Dial-Up Networking (Millennium and 2000 computers need to double click on Control Panel and the Dial-Up Networking will be in there.)
  • Once you have your Dial-Up Networking open you should see a Citynet icon
  • Right Click on the Citynet Icon and you will see a small menu pop up, place the mouse pointer over the word Delete and left click once on it.
  • Windows will now pop up an alert box that says: "Are you sure you want to delete Citynet?" Click the Yes Button
  • Close your DUN by clicking on the small x in the top right corner, you're done with this part. Now to install another DUC, click here.
